I have recently been working on a series of poems that express and help to regulate the 'Five Rhythms' as they are seen in Traditional Chinese Medicine. This one works with the rhythm of Wood / Spring which is composed of two meridians: the Yin meridian being Liver meridian, and the Yang meridian being Gallbladder meridian. The individual affirmations for these in Donna Eden's Energy Medicine are: 'I am kind to myself' and 'I assert myself peacefully, and release judgement easily.' I am often not good at asserting myself, or expressing my wishes. But when I leave it too late, I end up putting too much 'push' behind my assertions, and that is not nearly as effective as doing it peacefully. It feels great to say it to myself. How does it feel for you?
Wood / Spring
In the eye of my mind
The grass is growing
Roots are pushing
A little further into the ground,
And the ferns of fantasy
Are ready to unfurl.
The Time is Now
And I can source
All the energy I need
To expand.
I choose to be kind
By being clear:
These are my needs
And these are my wishes.
I assert them peacefully:
We are all free to assert our needs
And our wishes
Without judgement.
Who I am in this moment
Will change
As I unfurl the leaflets
Of possibility
In the open expanse
Of the space I created
By choosing to be kind
And clear.
